October in Muskoka 🍁🌲🍂

Fall is definitely my favourite season. Not many bugs anymore, cooler evenings and mornings, and the colours are just unreal! 🍁 It truly is a blessing to see God’s country and the beautiful scenery surrounding us.

This time of year can be a good reminder to slow down and reflect on life — where we've come from, what we've been through, and the things we have to be thankful for.

For anyone feeling trapped, helpless or hopeless — you are not alone. Have hope and never give up. This too shall pass ❤️

🌿 Hello, September
The leaves are starting to show their colour here in Muskoka 🍁, the evenings are getting cooler, and the days are slowly getting shorter.
September often brings change and new beginnings. Back to school, college or university, returning to work, starting a new job—or simply getting back into the routines of everyday life. Whatever September looks like for you, change can bring a mix of emotions.

Personally, this has been a year filled with changes for our family. Our oldest got married, our second daughter is heading off to university, our son is entering Grade 12, and our youngest is starting another year of elementary school after a summer filled with new adventures.

🌿🌙 Those nights... you finally unwind after a busy day. Maybe you didn't fold that laundry or get to the dishes piled in the sink—but you made it through the day. That is enough.
You did what needed to be done. You cared for your kids, put in another day's work, or maybe you simply took the day to do something that brought you joy.
The days pass by, and sometimes you feel like you didn't accomplish everything you intended to. How does that make you feel?
I choose to give myself grace, time and time again. I did what I could today. I am safe. My family is safe. We have a roof over our heads and food in our fridge.
I often think of those who don't have those things—food, shelter, family, or a place to call home. These are daily blessings we can so easily take for granted.
So tonight, be gentle with yourself. Count your blessings, one by one. Find your joy where you can, and may you find a little peace before tomorrow begins. 🌿🤍

🌿 Summer Check-In! ☀️
How is your summer going so far?

Whether you're raising young children, a single parent, part of a couple, enjoying the empty nest years, living on your own, or simply trying to balance work and life, summer often brings a different rhythm.
For some, it's camping, beach days, road trips, and making memories. For others, it's working straight through, caring for loved ones, or simply trying to catch a moment to relax.

No matter what your summer looks like, one thing I've been hearing from almost everyone is... it's busy!

In the middle of the busyness, don't forget to take care of yourself. Whether it's going for a walk, exercising, journaling, reading a book, enjoying a massage or manicure, playing a sport you love, or simply taking a few quiet moments to breathe—self-care matters.

We live in a world that rarely slows down, but it's okay to pause, reflect, and recharge.
