🤖📚 A NOTE ABOUT OUR AI-CREATED POSTER

Why was this poster created using AI?

With annual operating funding of $157,151 in 2026, the Kaslo & District Public Library faces ongoing challenges in maintaining adequate staffing for public opening hours while delivering and promoting community programs.
AI-assisted design helps us make the most of limited resources and staff time. It is one small example of how libraries are adapting and finding creative solutions, while continuing to advocate for the sustainable funding needed to serve our communities.

💙 Thank you for supporting your community library!

📚🍂 October is Canadian Library Month! 🍂📚

2026 Theme: Loud for Libraries! 📣

This October, we're celebrating the important role public libraries play in our communities. Libraries are so much more than books — they're welcoming spaces where people of all ages can connect, learn, discover, create, and belong. 💙
But behind the programs, services, and welcoming spaces is a challenge that deserves greater awareness.

Like many public libraries across British Columbia, the Kaslo & District Public Library continues to face funding shortfalls that affect our ability to provide the level of service our community deserves.

In 2026, our Library received $157,151 in annual operating funding. While we are grateful for the funding and support we receive, it is not sufficient to adequately staff all public opening hours while also meeting the growing demands of programming, collections, technology, and community services.

Our dedicated staff and volunteers work hard to make the most of every dollar. We continue to find creative ways to deliver services, including using artificial intelligence (AI) to help produce promotional materials like the poster accompanying this post.

AI can help us save time and stretch limited resources, but it cannot replace the people who make our libraries welcoming, accessible, and valuable to our communities.

💙 Strong libraries need sustainable funding.

During Canadian Library Month, we invite you to celebrate your local library, recognize the contributions of library staff and volunteers, and help raise awareness of the importance of investing in public libraries.

Because libraries aren't just about what we borrow — they're about what we build together. ❤️

Let's get LOUD for libraries! 📣📚
