Have you seen the blue sign at railway crossings? 🔵 Know what it's for before you need it.

If a vehicle becomes stuck on the tracks, a person is in danger, or you observe a problem that could affect rail traffic, look for the blue Emergency Notification System sign posted at the crossing.

The sign contains:
✅ A phone number to the railway company
✅ A crossing identification number that helps pinpoint your exact location

Providing this information can help railway personnel quickly identify the crossing and take action.

This Rail Safety Week, take a moment to locate the blue sign the next time you're at a railway crossing. Knowing where to find it could save a life.

This highlights the value of keeping the grass short around the out buildings. This fire ran about 3/4 of a mile in the wind before this yard and a ways after.. It burned bare stubble and pasture and burned up some equipment, but I would say the short grass played a big part in saving the shop.
