Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society We are a registered non-profit society. Donations are tax-deductible. Please see 'Products' for a listing of our on-going programs and services.

The Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society promotes the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being of all peoples through the development of community-based services and encouraging the preservation and promotion of Indigenous cultural distinctiveness. The Friendship Centre Movement includes the National Association of Friendship Centres, provinical associations, and Friendship Centres in communities throughout Canada. We provide programs and services to all peoples in all four stages of life: infants/children, youth, adults, and Elders. We are always looking for volunteers to support many of our on-going programs, as well as special events. In addition to our regular programs, we have a number of special events throughout the year:
-National Aboriginal Day
-Sisters In Spirit Vigil
-Kelowna Culture Days
-National Aboriginal Addictions Awareness Week
-Childrens' Christmas Party
-Feed The People--a Christmas meal served to our community

Check this page as well as our website regularly for updates on programs and events! We'd love to have you join us! Contact us either via telephone or e-mail if you're interested in volunteering and/or accessing our programs and services.

🎂 FREE BIRTHDAY STUFF! 🎉 🎈

Who knew a birthday could come with SO many FREEBIES?!🙌

Starting with free breakfast🍳 and coffee, ☕️ to meals 🍔 followed with 🍨 , and even a FREE car wash! 🚗 There are so many birthday perks to take advantage of! 🎁

I’ve put together a list of these freebies around Kelowna, some requiring ID, for tubers you’ll need a membership, rewards account or an app. 📱 Many of these shops are available in other cities too!

📌 SAVE this post so you have it handy on your birthday!

🎉 SHARE it with someone you know who loves freebies or has a birthday coming up!

👉Follow Kelowna Thrift Scene for more money saving events!

👇Then tell me- which birthday freebie will you be collecting first? 🍦☕️🍔

Please keep in mind: these offers, and eligibility requirements may change without notice. (Ex I have been informed that IHOP now gives a scoop of ice cream, and Spaghetti Factory does not offer a birthday freebie. It’s a good idea to check with each business before heading out to claim. Some offers require signing up in advance, etc. My favorite only requires ID!

Sharing Information on Behalf of Youth 🪶

"Today (October 15th 2026) Syilx and secwepemc, Ojibwe, anishnaabe, and Tsleil-Waututh youth gathered in kiʔláwnaʔ (Kelowna) to protest bill C-39. This bill is important because it will violate the tmxʷulaxʷ (the land), tmixʷ (all life), nalx siwɬkʷ (and the water). The bill is basically a bulldoze the land and relationships act. It allows the fast track of project review timelines (ie fast track resource extraction projects), creates federal destruction zones (where cabinet has power to create regions of national interests, which are areas that are always Indigenous lands and waters), prioritizes profits over people (ie prevents workers from standing up for their rights, as the constitutional right to strike is threatened under Bill C-39).

This bill violates Indigenous rights (under Section 35 of the constitution act, as well as through article 32 of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples UNDRIP), Environmental protections, and workers rights. Please join us in rejecting this bill and all that it stands for.

There will be a national general strike concerning this bill on the 12th of November. Join us in the fight for our lands, waters, working class rights, and our inherent rights as indigenous peoples."
