The manosphere is a network of online communities that often promote misogyny, rigid gender roles, and harmful beliefs about women, relationships, and power.

Repeated exposure can normalize disrespect, entitlement, and controlling behaviours.

Recognizing these messages is an important step in building relationships rooted in respect, equality, and consent.

Honouring someone’s pronouns is one of the simplest, most powerful ways to say: I see you. I respect you. You're safe here.

To ask about someone's pronouns, you can respectfully ask:
“My name is Sally and my pronouns are she/her. What about you?”
"What pronouns do you prefer?"
"How would you like to be addressed pronoun-wise?"

On Persons Day, we honour the Famous Five trailblazers who fought for women to be recognized as “persons” under Canadian law in 1929. Their victory was a turning point, but not the finish line. We carry their legacy forward by continuing the fight for equity, safety, and justice for all women and girls.

Rural women face additional barriers when seeking safety, so what can be done?

Through mobile outreach, better digital access, strong community networks, trauma-informed care, and the power of sharing stories, we can create safer, more supportive pathways forward.

Support should reach everyone, no matter the distance.

Many survivors of intimate partner violence are unaware that head and facial injuries can lead to brain injuries. As a result, they may not seek the medical care they need.

On Purple Thursday, we raise awareness about the intersection between intimate partner violence and brain injury so that survivors receive the compassionate care and assistance they need to heal.

Today, on the International Day of the Girl Child, we celebrate every girl for exactly who she is.

The world may tell girls they're "too sensitive," but feeling deeply is not a weakness. Empathy, kindness, and compassion are strengths. 💜

October is Women's History Month, a time to recognize the women whose courage, leadership, and determination have shaped our communities and helped advance equality.

We honour Mary E. Boyd, Edith Jessie Archibald, Dr. Eliza Ritchie, Viola Desmond, Rosemary Brown, and Rita Joe for the lasting impact they made in law, education, civil rights, literature, and advocacy. Their stories remind us that progress is built through persistence, courage, and a commitment to creating a more just future.
