Good luck on your journey, Colonel Kutryk!
Today, Royal Military College of Canada alumnus Colonel Joshua Kutryk (Class of 2004) begins an extraordinary new chapter as he launches aboard SpaceX Crew-13 on his journey to the International Space Station.
Kutryk’s path to space began here at RMC, where he earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering in 2004. He went on to build a distinguished career as a Royal Canadian Air Force CF-18 fighter pilot, experimental and operational test pilot, and instructor before being selected as a Canadian Space Agency astronaut in 2017.
Today, that journey takes him beyond Earth. Over approximately six months aboard the International Space Station, Colonel Kutryk will conduct scientific research, test new technologies and contribute to the international effort to better understand life and work in space. Crew-13 also marks the first Canadian astronaut mission under NASA’s Commercial Crew Program.
From the RMC campus to the International Space Station, Joshua Kutryk’s journey is a remarkable example of where education, service, perseverance and a willingness to reach for the extraordinary can lead.
