And at Ray of Hope, food is what brings us together.

Whether its a hot meal and a coffee, or some bread, eggs, and milk at our marketplace, we're all about full bellies. Our Community Centre is proud to serve up warm and nutritious food — as well as a welcoming, safe space — all 365 days of the year.

No one should have to wonder if they'll be able to eat today. We're so grateful to our staff, volunteers, donors, and partners at The Food Bank of Waterloo Region who make thousands of plates possible each and every month.

October is Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM), a time to celebrate the workplace inclusion of persons experiencing disability. At Ray of Hope, adults with disabilities can access employment support and paid local work experience through our 26-week New Beginnings program.

We're grateful to businesses like Mission Thrift Store Kitchener who partner with us to make these job placements possible for our participants. Mission Thrift Store is a nonprofit where proceeds support the local community as well as global initiatives. In the past year they have supported two job placements with us where individuals have learned valuable skills such as customer service, merchandising, and cashiering. One continues to work there as a permanent staff while the other is completing their placement and returning to school.

Thanksgiving is here again, and we at Ray of Hope want to give thanks to our community.
Every day at Ray of Hope, strangers become neighbours around the table. Guests find a warm meal, dignity, and belonging. Volunteers offer kindness that feels like family. Donors give so generously that a ripple of grace moves throughout our community. Whether it be monetary donations or food donations, we are so thankful for our community!
We are grateful to God for bringing all these lives together this Thanksgiving and hope that your Thanksgiving is filled with warmth, love and hope.

This afternoon, our good friends at the Forest Heights Community Association (FHCA) dropped off a generous $5500 gift. FHCA has partnered with Ray of Hope for more than 5 years, and we're so grateful for their annual support. Every dollar helps us invest in people, inspire hope, and transform lives.

Join us for a one-of-a-kind Christmas shopping experience! Enjoy a lovely start to the Christmas season as you tour tables of handmade and locally sourced goods, listen to live music, and enjoy some tasty treats.

This helps support Ray of Hope. In lieu of an entrance fee, please bring a non-perishable food item to help fill The Marketplace shelves!
