(June 2 Update) FIRE RESTRICTIONS LIFTED | ...and our Fire Permit System is up and running!!
✅ While conditions have improved, fire permits are still required for outdoor burning (excluding cooking/warming fires and burning barrels). Thank you for your understanding as we work to resolve the issue.

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CENTRE PETITION | The Lacombe Research and Development Centre has been a cornerstone of our local agriculture community—supporting farmers, advancing innovation, and strengthening food production across Central Alberta.
A new petition is now calling on the federal government to protect Canada’s agricultural research stations, including Lacombe's, and prevent further losses.

REMINDER | Mandatory Strychnine Stewardship Training for Producers
All producers who intend to purchase or use strychnine must complete the approved Strychnine Stewardship Training BEFORE purchasing the product. **Lacombe County will receive a limited quantity of strychnine in early-mid June.**
The course is delivered online and MUST be completed prior to product purchase. The training provides essential instruction on:
- Proper handling and application
- Regulatory compliance
- Environmental safety

LACOMBE COUNTY ALERT SYSTEM | We recently launched Voyent Alert!, a new multi-purpose communication service designed to keep our residents informed and safe! Emergency alerts can provide critical updates during wildfires, flooding, winter storms, or evacuations. We are using Voyent Alert! to notify subscribers about critical events, as well as day-to-day notifications on fire advisories/restrictions/bans, road disruptions, and service outages.
