Middlesex County staff were proud to share their expertise at the annual Western Ontario Wardens Caucus Conference.

County employees participated in sessions highlighting the power of regional collaboration to advance housing initiatives and secure funding, as well as the role rural transit plays in connecting residents to employment, education, and essential services.

These discussions showcased the value of strong partnerships in addressing local challenges and creating opportunities. Exchanging ideas and experiences helps municipalities tackle shared challenges and identify new ways to work together.

What's it like to be Warden for a Day?

This week, three high school students from across Middlesex County found out firsthand. They joined Warden Sue Clarke for a full day at the County Administration Building exploring what it takes to lead, serve, and make a difference locally.

From watching a council meeting and getting a behind-the-scenes tour of the historic building, to job shadowing departments like Forestry, Middlesex County Library and the Middlesex-London Paramedic Service, the students experienced a true day in the life of County leadership.

They also joined Warden Clarke and County Councillors to discuss the challenges and rewards of serving the community and capped off the experience by observing an official Middlesex County Council meeting.
