The West Oaks Home and School Association is getting ready for the time when we will be able to plan pizza lunches and some fun in-person activities. We can’t wait!

Orange Shirt Day is a day where people all across Canada “witness and honour the healing journey of the survivors of residential schools and their families and to commit the ongoing process of reconciliation”. Wear an orange shirt on September 30 to remember what happened to the Indigenous peoples and listen to the stories of survivors while also remembering that every child matters.  Visit the website https://www.orangeshirtday.org/ to learn more.

Today, ALL of our Elementary In-person Learning students are in school! Thank you for your patience during staggered start. It has allowed us to ensure that all health and safety protocols are in place and allowed our students more time to learn new school routines.

For many students, the first day of school is just around the corner and we want to recognize the incredible effort of school administrators, teachers, educators, resource staff, custodians, counsellors, families and the entire school community working tirelessly behind the scenes to make the return to school as safe as possible. Your dedication is nothing short of heroic!

We are all in this together. And we can do this together.

Don't forget Movie Night is THIS Friday, December 6th at 6:30 pm. Everyone is invited to wear their PJ's and bring a blanket to cozy up on. Hope to see you there!

West Oaks has been invited to the London Knights game on Sunday, January 26th at 2 pm vs the Guelph Storm!
A group of West Oaks students will sing O Canada at the game!

All tickets are $22 each and will be in one of the upper 300 level sections. All students must have a ticket and must be accompanied by an adult with a ticket.

Mme Sturby has already met with the students who will be singing O Canada and they will practice in January. Please check with your child to see if they are in this group. All students singing in the choir must have a ticket and must be accompanied by an adult with a ticket.

This is a great Holiday gift idea! Tickets will be sent home before the holidays.

Dancing is FREE, Admission is FREE. Tickets will also be for sale at the door (cash only).
