Municipal elections are next Monday, and understanding what drives voter turnout can be top of mind for municipalities. As part of the Municipal Innovation Internship Program, Maryam Abouelela worked with the Town of Oakville to examine voter turnout and engagement, particularly with respect to younger voters. In our latest Municipal Monitor Extra, AMCTO President Kyle Pratt speaks with Maryam about her research and what municipalities can do to encourage younger residents to get out and vote.
