In continuation with our artist introductions, we are excited to introduce the following artists performing on Night 2 of our two-night Lilith Music Fair raising funds for the Native Women’s Shelter of Montreal and La Fondation Canado-Palestinienne du Québec!
Band #3: Angela Bégin
Angela Bégin is a Canadian singer-songwriter and radio host. Performing live since 2016, her sound blends Indie-folk and alt-country songwriting with tinges of grunge and shoegaze. Her music is dedicated to honouring the lands, winds, waters and skies that brought her up, taking inspiration from the natural world and particularly themes of spaciousness, temporality and transformation. Her inspirations include Joni Mitchell and Adrianne Lenker with her own music mirroring the sensitive songwriting characteristic of these artists. Her favourite Lilith Fair artist is Sarah McLachlan, whose album Surfacing was the soundtrack to many of her childhood road trips.
Band # 2kyerg
2kyerg is the experimental project of musician Grey Brisson. They have a long history of playing music, performing onstage since the 4th grade, and taking their early inspirations from neo-soul and Reggae artists like D’Angelo, Bob Marley and Sade. They have experimented with many different sounds, including alternative rock and shoegaze with their band Lady Grey and the Phantoms. With 2kyerg, their sound explores a more ambient, immersive and expressive side. Recent influences include Chanel Beads, Klein, Dean Blunt, and ML Buch, as well as musical projects of the Ottawa music scene that Grey belongs to. Their favourite Lilith Fair artists are Tracy Chapman and Erykah Badu.
Both artists will be performing January 10th at La Sotterenea

Band # 3: Boyish Apocalypse
Boyish Apocalypse is the solo project of Neptune Lightburn, known for his longstanding involvement in the Montreal scene, especially for his intricate bass work in the progressive rock band Mellonella. At Lilith Fair, Boyish Apocalypse’s debut show, we will see a different side of Neptune’s creative spirit, with experimental and bass-forward arrangements featuring unique instruments such as the Q-chord. Neptune is inspired by boundary-pushing projects such as Fripp & Eno and loveliescrushing, as well as Wild Strawberries and The Cardigans, alumni of the original Lilith Fair.
Band #4: Fionavair
Fionavair is the project of Montreal-based musician Seyjii Shultz, who has been active in the city’s music scene since 2021. Alongside fronting her own work on vocals and guitar, Shultz plays drums in several local bands, including Mafuba, Under You, Kelly Elizabeth, and Napoleon Bonfire. Making its live debut in March 2025, Fionavair features an eclectic sound composed of soft, subdued vocals and tender songwriting laid against heavy, distorted, shoegaze-inspired instrumentals. The project takes inspiration from artists such as Hop Along, Julie, and Wednesday, but the sound remains distinctly its own. Fionavair’s favourite Lilith fair Artist is Fiona Apple.

On December 6th, 1989, 14 women were killed at Polytechnique, and 14 other victims were injured. Their murderer blamed them for having stolen the opportunity from other men to enter the Polytechnique Engineering program— They were killed for being women. As a national trauma, that day left a deep imprint on a generation of students, Montrealers and Quebecers. Feminist Activists fight a political battle for authorities to recognize that it was not only a mass murder but a mass femicide, one of the first of its kind. This December 5th, from 5 pm to 9 pm at 201-B McGill University Centre, we offer the McGill community a place to reflect and remember each victim and the life inexcusably taken that day, those of:
• Geneviève Bergeron (21), Mechanical Engineering student
• Hélène Colgan (23), Mechanical Engineering student
• Nathalie Croteau (23), Mechanical Engineering student
• Barbara Daigneault (22), Mechanical Engineering student
• Anne-Marie Edward (21), Chemical Engineering student
• Maud Haviernick (29), Metallurgical Engineering student
