It is not every day that you meet triplets getting set to graduate from the same high school. But that is precisely the case for David, Julian and Alessia. Our Mike Cohen met them along with their mother Vanessa and best friend Elio at the EMSB Education and Career Fair. The RoyalVale students are now deciding where to study after high school. Will they stay together?

The EMSB held a highly successful Educaton @ Career Fair Oct. 21 at St. Pius X Career Centre and our Mike Cohen was on the floor talking to students and exhibitors. That included iconic broadcaster Mose Persico of CFQR 600 AM, students from Laurier Macdonald High School and a rep from Canada Border Services Agency.

Today at St. Pius X Career Centre our Mike Cohen met Adelino Cavaluzi who left his studies at John Molson School of Business because he had another calling: to become a chef. He could not be happier.

Recently, Edward Murphy School’s Wings 2 class participated in the Goldie Equestrian Project, an exciting experience that allowed students to connect with horses in a fun and meaningful way!

Over several weeks, students had the chance to pet, groom, feed, and even walk the horses while learning how to interact with and care for these wonderful animals. These hands-on experiences encouraged students to build confidence, develop new skills, and strengthen their connections with the animals around them. It was a wonderful opportunity filled with learning, discovery, smiles, and unforgettable memories!

The 26th annual English Montreal School Board Education and Career Fair Open House will be taking place in an expanded format on Wednesday, October 21, at the St. Pius X Career Centre in Ahuntsic (9955 Papineau Boulevard North). This event will run from 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Admission is free, and complimentary parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis in the rear lot off Sauriol Avenue. It is sponsored by Jack Dym and Pipe and Piling Supplies Inc. All high school students and their parents from anywhere in the Montreal area are encouraged to attend.

This is a can’t-miss opportunity for students in Grades 9, 10, and 11 and their families. The Education and Career Fair is your one-stop shop for the future, bringing together a wide variety of post-secondary options—all in one convenient location.

In the plaza area, you’ll be able to explore programs and speak directly with representatives from CEGEPs, private institutions, vocational training centres, and universities.

Parents and guardians will also benefit by discovering tools and insights that make conversations about the future easier and more meaningful—helping your child identify the best path forward. Families who have attended in the past found this event invaluable for clarifying options, asking the right questions, and planning smarter for upcoming open houses..

Don’t miss this exciting event - it’s your chance to explore, connect, and get inspired about the future. The Student Services and Adult Education and Vocational Services (AEVS) Departments of the EMSB coordinate the program. Our Mike Cohen spoke to these Westmount High School students.
