October is here, and we’re celebrating I ♥ My Library Month! 📚❤️

This one is extra special. We’re marking 90 years of stories, people and places across Vancouver Island, Haida Gwaii and the Central Coast—and looking ahead to a future full of possibility.

Throughout October, visit a branch, take part in a program, complete your 90th Anniversary Passport or share a favourite library memory with us.

For 90 years, VIRL has helped people find their way to stories, ideas, information, opportunities and one another. As we look to the next 90, one thing remains constant:

Libraries light the way.

❤️🚌Before many communities had a library branch and before eBooks, the library came to you! Our bookmobile service began in 1936, bringing stories and knowledge to rural communities and remote islands.

Who remembers bookmobiles? We’d love to hear your stories! 📖
