EFry is pleased to continue our collaboration with Granville Island Kids Market for this year’s Tree of Hope Toy Bank!

It was wonderful to connect with Jamie Bowness and Loreto Guinto to discuss this partnership and celebrate the generosity and continued support of our community partners.

Their contributions help us bring hope, joy, and a little extra warmth to women, children, and families during the holiday season. We are grateful to work alongside partners who share our commitment to making a meaningful difference.

Together, we can help more families experience the joy of the season.

You, too, can partner with us to bring the Gift of Hope to our community. Connect with us to learn how you can get involved: https://efry.com/get-involved/partner-with-us/

Finding your voice is the first step toward making an impact.

Recently, EFry partnered with Toastmasters and NYIT for Find Your Voice, Know Your Worth, Make an Impact, a public speaking workshop designed to build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and empower participants to express themselves with purpose.

A big thank you to our speakers, Charie Ginete-Ilon, Dr. Andrew Woods, Rob Evans, Thad Rodrigues, and Thea Pugales, for sharing their insights, and to Karina Alatorre for keeping the session on time as our timekeeper.

We’re also grateful to NYIT students and our external guests for participating and making this workshop a meaningful opportunity to learn, connect, and grow.

The impact of workshops like this goes beyond public speaking. By helping participants communicate with confidence, recognize their strengths, and share their ideas, we can support them in pursuing opportunities, building meaningful relationships, and making their voices heard in their communities.

At EFry, we believe that every voice matters, and that confidence can be a powerful step toward creating new possibilities.

EFry is grateful to the Surrey Fire Fighters Charitable Society for their generous $15,000 donation to our JustKids program!

This contribution will help provide children and youth with more opportunities to participate in enriching activities, build positive relationships, discover their strengths, and develop skills that support their growth and well-being.

Every child deserves opportunities to learn, connect, and thrive. Community partners like SFFCS help us create meaningful experiences that help young people build confidence, feel a sense of belonging, and look forward to a brighter future.

SFFCS has been a valued supporter of EFry’s Youth Programs since 2024. Thank you, SSFCS, for your continued support of EFry over the years. We truly appreciate your generosity and partnership.

EFry was pleased to attend the Scotiabank Diwali Festival 2026, celebrating a season of light, community, and new beginnings alongside valued partners and community members.

Scotiabank has been a generous and valued partner to EFry, previously contributing $150,000 in donations to support EFry Academy. This investment helps strengthen access to education, skills development, and opportunities that empower women to build brighter, more stable futures for themselves and their families.

Partnerships like this go beyond financial support. They help create pathways to opportunity, open doors to new possibilities, and remind women that their goals and potential deserve to be supported. Together, we can help build communities where women have the resources and opportunities they need to move from surviving to thriving.

We are grateful for Scotiabank’s continued commitment to community and for the opportunity to celebrate this meaningful occasion together.

Building connections. Creating opportunities. Supporting brighter futures.

EFry was pleased to participate in the Childcare Connect: Hiring & Networking Event, organized by the Pacific Immigrant Resource Society (PIRS).

Through our Community-Based Employment Services (CBES) program, we recently supported individuals in earning their Early Childhood Education Assistant (ECEA) certificates, helping them take meaningful steps toward new career opportunities.

Participating in events like Childcare Connect allows us to continue building connections with employers and community partners, creating pathways to employment and supporting individuals as they work toward brighter, more independent futures.

Building compassionate care starts with understanding the people and communities we serve.

Our Project-Based Labour Market Training (PBLMT) Healthcare Assistant participants recently took part in an engaging learning session led by an external Indigenous facilitator. The session created space for meaningful conversations, shared learning, and a deeper understanding of Indigenous perspectives and experiences.

For future healthcare assistants, this learning is especially important. Providing quality care goes beyond clinical skills. It also means recognizing the impact of history, understanding barriers Indigenous people may face when accessing healthcare, and approaching every person with cultural humility, respect, and compassion.

By incorporating these perspectives into their training, our participants can develop the awareness needed to build trust, foster culturally safer care environments, and provide person-centred support that respects each individual's experiences, identity, and needs.

At EFry, we believe that preparing future healthcare professionals means equipping them with both practical skills and the cultural awareness to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those they serve.

Every new beginning holds the promise of a brighter future.

EFry celebrates the graduates of our Community-Based Employment Services (CBES) program who have successfully completed the Early Childhood Education Assistant (ECEA) program through Sprott Shaw College.

This achievement represents more than a certificate. It is a step toward new career opportunities, greater confidence, and the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young children. Through skills development and access to training, participants are building pathways toward fulfilling careers and new possibilities.

Congratulations to our graduates! May this milestone open doors to continued growth, purpose, and success.

A little community support can help make a big difference.

EFry extends our sincere thanks to Virgin Radio, especially to Darren, Holly and Nira, for sharing the news about our JustKids program and BMO’s generous $50,000 gift in support of this important initiative.

Support like this helps bring greater awareness to the programs making a difference in the lives of children and families. We’re grateful to Virgin Radio for helping share this story and to BMO for investing in the well-being and brighter futures of the children and families we serve.

Together, we can help create more opportunities for children to thrive.
