🇨🇦 More than 4,000 citizenship certificates were issued under the new rules in just over 3 months. Nearly half of the successful applicants were born in the United States. Interest continues to grow as more people discover they may qualify through Canadian ancestors.
⏳ Processing times for proof of citizenship applications have increased to approximately 12 months.

🇨🇦 A B.C. court has ruled in favour of approximately 880 migrant workers who paid 1000s of dollars for jobs in Canada that were not available when they arrived. The court found that workers were offered employment contracts for positions that often did not exist, while some recruiters charged unlawful fees.
• Mac’s Convenience Stores breached its duty of honesty toward workers.
• Recruiters were found to have charged prohibited fees.
• Some workers arrived in Canada only to find no jobs waiting for them.

🇨🇦 British Columbia has released an updated BC PNP Skills Immigration Guide, now reflecting the program changes announced on April 23, 2026.
The guide also includes eligibility requirements for the Temporary Rural / Remote Health Support initiative, with registration opening June 15 and closing August 31, 2026.

🇨🇦 At this morning, Ted Gallivan, Deputy Minister of Immigration, confirmed that Phase 1 of the Express Entry reforms will be implemented within this calendar year through Ministerial Instructions. 😲
While broader regulatory changes are currently expected around late 2027, some reforms can be implemented much sooner through Ministerial Instructions, without waiting for the full regulatory process.
For now, we know changes are coming this year. We just don’t know exactly which ones.
