Springfield Co-op Community Pool Survey

The Municipality of Springfield is pleased to be moving forward with aquatic programming at the Springfield Co-op Community Pool, providing residents with increased access to swimming, recreation, fitness, and water-safety opportunities close to home.

The Municipality will be renting pool space from Springfield Heritage Housing Inc. to deliver community swim programming. This partnership will allow the Municipality to build a sustainable aquatic program while making use of an existing community facility.

As we prepare for programming to begin in January, we want to hear from you! Your feedback will help us understand which programs residents would like to see offered, what times are most convenient, and what fee structures would best meet the needs of our community.

Whether you’re interested in swimming lessons for your children, fitness and wellness opportunities, recreational swimming, or water-safety education, your input is important.

Please take a few minutes to complete this survey and help us shape the future of aquatic programming in Springfield. While responses will help guide our planning, final programming, schedules, and fees will depend on community needs, facility availability, staffing, and budget considerations.

Thank you for helping us build a safe, welcoming, and accessible aquatic program for our community!

Whether you are doing a group trunk or treat, or exploring a new neighbourhood this year, there is a few reminders to both pedestrians and motorists this Halloween.

With many roads in the community not having designated sidewalks it is important to keep an eye out for trick-or-treaters. It is also very important for families to ensure their safety & visibility, should you be walking on a dark road, or a road without a sidewalk. Motorists should be more cautious and aware of potential trick-or-treaters on all roadways and sidewalks. Though kids may be with friends or parents they can be unpredictable- teach your kids to be street smart and cautious when on the road.

Though tampering with candy is rare, at the end of the night ensure your child’s safety before eating candy by checking for allergens, choking hazards, and any opened or candy wrappers that appear tampered with.

Increase your visibility this year by:
- Wearing reflective materials (traffic vests, clothing with reflective strips)
- Carrying flashlights or wearing head lamps (to help you see better in the dark & help drivers see you)
- Adding reflective tape to costumes and bags
- Staying near streetlights and houses with their lights on
