This week our classroom celebration features Mrs. Warner's Foundations 2 group from our Complexity Classroom!

In Foundations 2, learning happens through action and real-world experience! Every week, our students practice key life skills in meaningful ways—from mastering kitchen safety while cooking up grilled cheese sandwiches, to taking pride in our school community by helping care for the TeePee area. We also love celebrating holidays with fun STEM experiments like Halloween’s "Exploding Monsters" using baking soda and vinegar!

Our curriculum centers on key areas of growth:

Real-World Literacy & Numeracy: Building practical reading and math skills using everyday materials.

Self-Care & Daily Living: Fostering personal independence, safety habits, and self-reliance.

Social Communication: Strengthening peer connections and collaborative communication.

Visual Schedules & Systems: Learning to guide through task sequences independently to reduce adult prompting.

Leisure & Community Integration: Exploring fun recreational activities and contributing to our school community.

In Foundations 2, we build confidence, community, and lifelong independence—one life skills lesson at a time!

This week's Classroom Celebration is Mrs Marten's Gr 3 Class. They have been busy creating 3D paper Mache mushrooms and designing an enchanted forest theme right in their classroom. This aligns with the curriculum as part of 3D construction and mixed media integration. They look amazing, good job!
