Iranian Justice Collective (IJC) extends its sincere condolences to the family of Masood Masjoody, an Iranian-Canadian mathematics professor and political activist, following his tragic murder.
There is a strong likelihood that Mr. Masjoody’s murder is an example of political violence, which we condemn in all its forms. The murder may also constitute transnational repression, an issue on which the IJC has long warned Canada’s policymakers. We hope that this tragic event serves as a wake-up call to Canadian officials that transnational repression is an issue that needs immediate and urgent attention.

The University of Toronto Students for a Free Iran invites you to join a ceremony held in solidarity with the freedom-seeking and revolutionary uprising of the people of Iran, marking the anniversary of the killing of students from this university and innocent civilians in the downing of the Ukrainian passenger plane.
The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, January 14, at 5:30 PM, in front of the west entrance of Hart House, beside the memorial at the University of Toronto dedicated to the eight students of this university who lost their lives in the Ukrainian flight. The event will then continue with speeches by families seeking justice and Iranian political activists addressing the revolutionary uprising of the people of Iran.

Yesterday, September 1st, marked the Day of Solidarity for the Prisoners of Iran.
🇨🇦 Canada is the only country in the world that has officially recognized the 1988 massacre of political prisoners in Iran as a crime against humanity—and to the extent of establishing September 1st in the calendar as a Day of Solidarity with Iran’s political and conscience prisoners.
This historic step came through a unanimous parliamentary motion in 2013—introduced by NDP MP Paul Dewar, co-sponsored by Irwin Cotler (former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, Liberal MP) and Conservative MP , and championed by Iranian-Canadian activists, including our co-founder .
Our hearts stand with the families who have lost—and continue to lose—their loved ones to this brutal regime. Their courage is our call to action. ✊

Voices from Iran, Turkey, Serbia, and beyond will come together to affirm the urgent need to defend democracy, justice, and freedom.
This is more than a protest—it’s a united stand against authoritarianism, repression, and erasure. We believe in the power of solidarity across cultures, borders, and shared struggles. Together, we declare: Democracy is a right, not a privilege.
We welcome all individuals and communities facing oppression and calling for change. Bring your voice, your signs, and your spirit. Let’s stand side by side to show the world that we are not alone—and that we refuse to be silenced.
