Happy Croatian National Day 2026!🇭🇷

On May 30, we celebrate a defining moment in modern Croatian history, the constitution of the first democratically elected Parliament in 1990. Croatians celebrate this day with pride, reflecting on our enduring commitment to democracy, freedom, and peace.

In 🇨🇦, the Croatian community also marks the same day as the Day of Croatian Heritage in Ontario and Alberta, and, starting this year, in British Columbia. 🇨🇦 🇭🇷

Ambassador Vice Skračić and Consul General Ante Jović attended the Croatian-Canadian Folklore Festival (Canadian Croatian Folklore Federation- East) in Hamilton, celebrating the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the Croatian community.🇭🇷 It was wonderful to see generations come together in a vibrant display of Croatian traditional dance and music.
During the same weekend, the folklore ensembles of the Croatian Canadian Folklore Federation - West delivered beautiful performances in Winnipeg.
Congratulations to organisers, all performers, and the families whose dedication and passion continue to preserve these traditions for future generations.🇭🇷

The 22nd Annual Business Excellence Award Gala organized by the Canadian-Croatian Chamber of Commerce at the Burlington Convention Centre last night, was once again a celebration of Croatian-Canadian excellence and community spirit.

Congratulations to all Award winners, the scholarship recipients, as well as to the Chamber’s leadership on this outstanding event, featuring as a special guest Mr. Robert Andjelic, the biggest private landowner in Canada.

The Embassy of Croatia in Canada is proud and honoured to be a part of this beautiful tradition which, year after year, brings together Croatian-Canadians and other friends of Croatia from all over Canada.

Following Ontario and Alberta, today, May 30th was officially declared Croatian Heritage Day by the Province of British Columbia.

We are honored by this exceptional recognition of the contribution that generations of Croatian immigrants in this part of Canada have made to the past and present of British Columbia, and grateful to the leaders of the Croatian community in Vancouver who are behind this wonderful initiative.

Once again, the annual Heads of Mission visit organized by the Office of Protocol of Canada - this time to Nova Scotia - has proved to be a wonderful opportunity to get to know the country outside of Ottawa and build relationships with the provincial government and other stakeholders.

Ambassador Skračić has had the honour of being part of this visit and meeting with distinguished interlocutors, including the Hon. Tim Houston, Premier of Nova Scotia, provincial ministers representing key sectors and other members of the Legislative Assembly, Mi’kmaw chiefs, and Lt.-Gov. Mike Savage. Among the other highlights of the visit: meetings at DIANA - NATO’s Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic, the Port of Halifax and Dalhousie University.

👩‍🎓Ambassador Vice Skračić visited the Ivany Campus of Nova Scotia Community College - NSCC, further strengthening the connection with Algebra University College in Zagreb Sveučilište Algebra Bernays.
A sincere thank you to the NSCC team for the warm welcome. The Embassy remains committed to deepening partnerships and supporting educational exchange.
