Gardening at Terry Fox School!! 🌷🌱🌻

Tomorrow morning (May 23rd), from 10am to 12:30pm, we will be getting our gardens ready for summer!

We'd love to have some help from our fantastic community, bring your gloves and any tools you might want, or any transplants you've got from your own gardens!!

Last night's ArtsFest was absolutely wonderful!

To the artists who contributed your amazing work, thank you! We definitely have many talented artists! 👏

To the performers: your courage and perseverance through practice and rehearsals, and taking the stage in front of so many of your friends, family and community, you were fantastic! We are all so proud of each and every one of you! 👏

To our teachers, who led music, drama, art, and so much more with spirit and encouragement, thank you! 👏

To our community, on behalf of school council, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us raise another $725 at the Bake Sale! 👏

Thank you to those who donated baked goods, and to everyone who enjoyed a special treat. A special thank you to the members of coucil for organizing it!! It was a sweet success and helps the school in many different areas! 👏

🌻 Spring Gardens- Come join us May 23rd 🌻

Mark your calendars and join us for a day of gardening starting at 10:00am on May 23. We are accepting donations of plants so keep us in mind as you are planting your gardens at home. Please consider bringing any gardening tools (Shovels, gloves, etc)

TFES is starting our Spring cleaning of our gardens, and is looking for plants and rocks!

We are looking into adding a rock garden to make the garden more personal for our students. If you have any medium, big-ish size rocks, could you please bring them in or send them in with your child. We will be decorating them during Education Week.

Also, If anyone is dividing their plants this spring and would like to donate any plants, there is still lots of room in our gardens - please bring them to the school if you have any to donate.

Under the proposed cuts to OCDSB programs, some special needs classes for kids in grades 1-6 will be dissolved, placing kids with moderate needs in community classes. If your child has an IEP, the additional support they require from EAs or resource teachers, even their in-class teacher will suffer from needing to support new kids with special needs being included in these classes. Some cannot read, need medical attention, have outbursts.

Kids in these programs cannot be integrated into mainstream classes or they would be already. Protect the kids with special needs, and ensure your kids receive the support they need.
