Constable Dave Ross, Cst. Fabrice Gevaudan and Cst. Doug Larche.

Eleven years have passed since that horribly tragic day but the memories of these heroes in life will never fade from our hearts and minds. We will remember them.

Our respects to their families, RCMP colleagues and friends who feel their absence most acutely; to Constables Eric Dubois and Darlene Goguen who were severely wounded that day, and to all the members, dispatchers, site commanders and first responders who courageously responded to the call for service and have been forever scarred by what they saw and heard.

You are all in our thoughts.

Recently, he sat down with the Quarterly for an interview.

Maureen Gulyas

Highlights of the latest edition:

FIFTY YEARS OF WOMEN IN THE RCMP by Senator Bev Busson.

Fifty years ago this month, following much study and discussion by the Senior Executive of the Force, the paradigm shifted.
With little warning to the public, let alone the serving members, the Force announced that they were accepting female recruits.
What began as a groundbreaking decision has evolved into a legacy of strength, dedication, diversity, and courage that
transformed the Force.

DISCOVERING THE MIDDLE EAST ON A EUROPEAN UNION MISSION by Supt. Shelly Dupont.

IN FALL 2021, I was the acting Criminal Operations Officer in J
Div. As a member with almost 34 years of service, I had assumed that I would finish my career in J Div. The last thing I was expecting was a phone call in November from
Headquarters in Ottawa asking if I was interested in going on a
European Union mission for a year in Ramallah Palestine (West Bank).

THE SEARCH FOR ONE MOUNTIE'S CREMATED REMAINS
by Insp. Veronica Fox and C/M Maureen Gulyas

No one in the RCMP wanted to leave Supt. Joe Atherton
alone. So, a group of determined former and current RCMP officers set out on a multi-year search to dig into the mystery once and for all — the mystery of Supt. Atherton’s last resting place.

THEN AND NOW

IN THIS Q&A, Cst. Sarah Brophey, Reg. No. 54075, shares some of her experiences as a police officer for the RCMP, including her time as a member of the iconic Musical Ride. Cst. Brophey
graduated with Troop 14 in 2006 and is currently serving in Hamilton-Niagara, Ont.
