Labour Market Ottawa (LMO) is funded by the Ontario Government. LMO supports the goals of Employment Ontario & MTCU to maximize Ottawa Human Capital.
Labour Market Ottawa (LMO) is funded as an Employment Ontario project by the Ontario Government. LMO supports the goals of Employment Ontario and the Ministry’s emphasis on service delivery integration that is responsive to the diverse regional and local needs. Essential to its success is the commitment, leadership and guidance of Ottawa’s key employers. In addition, stakeholders from all levels o
f government and industry will be brought together, as partners, to determine practical solutions within their mandate and resources available. Two committees were formed in early 2009 to provide input and guidance into the 2010-2012 Ottawa Integrated Local Labour Market Plan, an industry-driven labour market plan for the Ottawa community. In the fall of 2011, Algonquin College was funded to facilitate the process of completing the initial 2011-2012 plan, support the implementation of the initial 2011-2012 strategic plan, and work with the two committees to update the Plan for 2012. Currently, the Labour Market Ottawa initiative is driven by two committees, supported by a manager and coordinator. This is who we are:
Labour Market Planning Committee - An ad hoc committee, comprised of industry leaders, established for the purpose of providing leadership, direction and advice. Labour Market Service Delivery Committee - An ad hoc committee, comprised of senior representatives of the three levels of government and private sector trainers and educators, established for the purpose of providing guidance, advice and a coordinated response to the Ottawa Labour Market Planning Committee. Labour Market Ottawa Office - Algonquin College is housing the Labour Market Ottawa Office, which is located on campus and provides resources to coordinate and support the LMO process.
