Connecting Talent, Research, and Innovation Across Canada and India
Representatives from IIT Tirupati and IISER Tirupati recently visited Dalhousie University, marking a major milestone in Canada–India collaboration. The visit featured the signing of an MoU between Dalhousie and IISER Tirupati, the inaugural Tirupati–Dalhousie Innovation Research Roundtable, and participation in Creative Destruction Lab Atlantic. Discussions also advanced plans for the Tirupati Tri-Institutional Global Innovation Campus, a joint initiative connecting researchers, students, innovators, and industry partners.
This landmark partnership will strengthen research, innovation, graduate education, talent mobility, and knowledge exchange, creating shared opportunities and prosperity for both Canada and India.

A 16-member delegation from National Defence College of India is currently on a five day visit to Canada.
The delegation, which includes officers from Indian Armed Forces, Civil Services and five officers from Friendly Foreign Countries, interacted with counterparts in the Department of National Defence and Global Affairs Canada with a view to identify avenues to enhance India-Canada defence ties.
They will also meet academia and visit key defence related institutions in Canada during their visit.

High Commissioner Shri Dinesh K Patnaik attended the CIBC Western Canada–India Leaders Summit on 29 May 2026, alongside Scott Moe, former BC Premier Christy Clark, Christopher Cooter, High Commissioner of Canada to India Canada in India (High Commission of Canada), as well as prominent leaders, government officials, business leaders, CIBC Board members, and think-tank representatives.
In his remarks, High Commissioner encouraged businesses to explore partnerships and investment opportunities in sectors such as agriculture, agri-tech, food processing, critical minerals, and energy, highlighting their significant potential for both countries. He also briefed participants on the recent visit of Hon'ble Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal ongoing CEPA negotiations, the role of leadership in strengthening bilateral relations, and the expanding opportunities for deeper collaborations in India–Canada economic and commercial engagement.

High Commissioner Shri Dinesh K Patnaik warmly welcomes a delegation from the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, led by Hon’ble Speaker Shri Thomas A. Sangma, during their visit to Ottawa for the 16th CPA Canadian Parliamentary Seminar.
The seminar, being held on the theme “Strengthening Parliamentary Democracy: Opportunities and Challenges,” includes engagements with the Senate of Canada and the Canadian House of Commons.
The visit of the Hon’ble Speaker and the delegation will further strengthen parliamentary exchanges and deepen democratic and institutional ties between India and Canada.
