Ontario New Democrats have a new leader in MPP Marit Stiles! You might’ve heard about her on the news or social media but what are her goals for Ontario, our Party? Her plan to beat Doug Ford and win a progressive government? What is her background? We’re here to help you find that out!

Hello New Democrats!
Last month, the Ontario government announced it’s decision to end our electricity deal with Québec, bringing an end to seasonal energy exchanges between the two provinces by 2026. Québec sees a power surplus during the summer and provides power to Ontario during these months when energy demands in Ontario are highest in exchange for power resources during the winter months, when Quebéc electricity demands peak. Québec mainly generates electricity through wind power, making it a more environmentally conscious and energy efficient power source than nuclear power.
📍This Saturday, November 19th at 1:00pm, the Carleton University New Democrats will be supporting the Extension Cord Protest alongside Ottawa Centre MPP Joel Harden
❗️ If you’re able, please bring an extension cord for yourself and, ideally, extra cords for other members who may not have access to one. Extras may be available and are subject to availability.
We hope to see you soon! ✊🍊
