Our team is very concerned about our youth and what will happen with the coming closure of safe consumption sites in Ottawa.
We know first-hand that supervised consumption saves lives. In the final 10 months of 2025, the site at Sandy Hill reversed 798 overdoses. The people there survived because care was immediately available.
Some of these people are youth who are coming to Operation Come Home.
Safe consumption sites provide vital access to care, and a place to connect with people who are among our city’s most vulnerable. They help keep youth alive while they are working on their long-term goals to achieve housing, employment, improved mental health, and their substance use.

Today we want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who made this powerful event possible.
A special thank you to United Way for organizing such a meaningful axe-throwing event in support of mental health awareness. Creating spaces for connection, conversation, and community impact truly matters.
Thank you to TD Canada for being an incredible sponsor and championing initiatives that strengthen our community. Your support helps turn important conversations into real action.
We are also grateful to BATL Grounds for hosting and creating such a welcoming and energizing space for the event.
To the Ottawa Redblacks players who came out to stand with us and advocate for mental health — your presence and support sends a powerful message.
And finally, a huge shout out to our amazing OCH staff members who showed up to represent with pride. Your commitment to community and youth is what drives this work forward every day.
Together, we continue to break stigma, build connection, and stand up for mental health
