The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to discuss the Centre's ongoing initiatives and the shared values of fostering inclusive and diverse societies. Celebrating diversity at Parliament Hill! On May 27, 2026, I attended the National Launch of the 24th Taste of Asia Festival and Asian Heritage Month. It was a vibrant evening featuring fantastic performances and a wonderful foretaste of the culinary delights to come at the full festival in Markham this June. Thank you to the organizers for a successful and inclusive reception that truly honors the contributions of the Asian community in Canada.

It was a productive visit for Mr. Hardi Hamdin, Chargé d’affaires a.i., to the CANSEC Expo in Ottawa. Joined by Mr. Jihad Alhouwayek, Marketing Officer from MATRADE, the team explored cutting-edge advancements in defence and security technology. This participation underscores the High Commission of Malaysia's commitment to staying informed on global security trends and fostering international partnerships.

Mr. Hardi Hamdin, Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the High Commission of Malaysia, held a productive breakfast meeting with Ms. Ginger Lam, Executive Director of the Alberta Executive Council, on May 29, 2026. Accompanied by Ms. Cordelia Abdul Rahim, the meeting served as an important opportunity to discuss potential collaboration between the High Commission and the Alberta Provincial Government. We look forward to continuing these meaningful engagements to strengthen our bilateral ties.

Celebrating the spirit of community and reflection: Mr. Hardi Hamdin, Chargé d'affaires a.i., was pleased to attend the 28th Annual Parliament Hill Eid ul Adha Dinner yesterday. Sharing this special time of gathering and fellowship with our Canadian friends and neighbors highlights the importance of inclusivity and shared values. Mr. Hardi Hamdin, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the High Commission of Malaysia, had the pleasure of representing Malaysia at the luncheon hosted by Embassy Connections Canada today, Wednesday, June 3, 2026. Held at the historic Fairmont Château Laurier, the event provided a valuable opportunity for meaningful engagement with members of the diplomatic community and partners in the National Capital Region. We appreciate the dedicated efforts of Embassy Connections Canada in fostering dialogue and strengthening diplomatic ties.

On behalf of the High Commission of Malaysia in Ottawa, Mr. Hardi Hamdin, Chargé d’Affaires a.i., visited the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen today to sign the official Condolence Book in memory of the late Field Marshal Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, former President of the Republic of Yemen. Malaysia extends its deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the government and the people of Yemen during this time of national mourning.
