This past May marked a major milestone for Beechcliffe Homes as the first round of future Habitat homeowners officially signed on to their homes! 🏡

There were smiles, excitement and some happy tears as they took this exciting next step on their homeownership journey. Through Habitat’s Affordable Homeownership Program, future homeowners partner with us to purchase their homes with an affordable mortgage geared to income, creating a solid foundation where they can truly thrive.

We’re so excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to continue welcoming more people home to Beechcliffe!

Ready to build something meaningful? Habitat’s 2026 Women Build is here!

Habitat Greater Ottawa’s Women Build days bring women together to make a real impact in the community.

Gather a team of 10 women to fundraise, or invite your employer to sponsor a group of staff, then join us on site to help build safe and affordable homes in Ottawa.

Everyone is welcome, and no experience is needed, even if you’ve never picked up a hammer.

Last year, Ceu & Amang officially became homeowners, moving into their home at Kemptville Korners. Since then, Amang has completed her Master’s degree, and she is now celebrating another amazing milestone: finishing her PhD.

Amang credits homeownership and the stability of a safe home as key reasons she was able to continue pursuing her education.
“Since becoming a homeowner, I no longer have to worry about living paycheque-to-paycheque or about the unsafe conditions my children were living in,” said Amang. “I am at peace knowing they won't need to go through the financial hardships and mental struggles that my husband and I went through before moving into our home. Instead, we're able to set our children up with the foundation for their future success.”
A recent study from Habitat Canada and Deloitte found that nearly a third of homeowners have started or completed an additional educational credential since moving into their Habitat home.

A safe and affordable home gives us the space and stability we need to be healthy, resilient, and build the life we choose, whether that means pursuing higher education, creating community, building wealth, or raising a family.
