As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to an end, the realities facing women in politics don’t.
Harassment, isolation, and the pressures of public life continue to shape who feels able to lead.
At Equal Voice, this work continues year-round through research, advocacy, and community-building.
Your donation helps make our work possible.

As Governor General Mary Simon concludes her tenure, Equal Voice extends our deepest gratitude for her remarkable service to Canada.
Her appointment as Canada's first Indigenous Governor General was a historic milestone.
Her vision of a Canada that embraces diversity, builds genuine relationships with Indigenous peoples, and respects every person has spoken directly to the work we do every day. Her compassionate approach to mental health has also resonated deeply with the women in our network, helping make the path to public life more sustainable and humane.
Thank you, Governor General Simon, for your dedication to gender equality and women's leadership in Canada. We wish you a warm and well-deserved retirement.

The numbers tell a clear story.
• 73% of young women are concerned about online harassment
• Nearly two thirds are concerned about their physical safety if they ran
• 73% don’t feel welcomed or invited to run
This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re shining a light on these mental health realities and barriers to entry that women face every day. Your support helps us continue the research, advocacy, and awareness needed to change this. Donate today at https://www.equalvoice.ca/donate.
