Tourism has the power to bring people together—and it’s strongest when everyone has the opportunity to participate, contribute, and belong. 🌟

This National AccessAbility Week, explore our Belong: Inclusion in Action video series, featuring people across Canada who are creating more accessible and inclusive tourism workplaces and experiences.

Their stories remind us that when barriers are removed, individuals, businesses, visitors, and communities all benefit. By embracing inclusion, we build a tourism sector that better reflects the diverse talent found from coast to coast to coast.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who shared their experiences and insights, and to SandBay Entertainment for capturing these stories and helping advance this important conversation.

The latest Labour Force Survey shows that tourism in Canada grew slightly in both employment (+0.6%) and labour force (+0.9%) from the previous month, slightly outperforming the larger national economy. However, as labour force growth outpaced employment, the unemployment rate also edged up slightly.

Tourism’s share of all employment in Canada was unchanged from March (9.9%), in line with recent years and a half percentage point above pre-pandemic levels.

Get the full scoop, including industry group and provincial stats, unemployment rates, part-time vs full-time employment, and hours worked in our latest Labour Force Survey Snapshot. 🔍
