Canada's Prime Minister, Mark Carney, had an audience with King Charles today at Buckingham Palace, on his first international trip as prime minister. 👑🇨🇦

Carney is King Charles' second Canadian Prime Minister.

Today, after meeting Prime Minister Trudeau in London, The King chose to wear his Canadian decorations while visiting British Royal Navy warships at sea.

Today in 2023, The Duchess of Edinburgh attended a Service of Remembrance at the St Catharines' Cenotaph. 🇨🇦

Following the Service, HRH visited the Lake Street Armories where she met soldiers of the Lincoln and Welland Regiment and their families.

Today in 2009 at Buckingham Palace, Queen Elizabeth II granted former Prime Minister Jean Chrétien one of her most prestigious personal honours, the Order of Merit. Only two other former prime ministers have received the honour, Mackenzie King & Pearson. 🍁

Today in 2002, thousands of people applauded Queen Elizabeth II & Prince Phillip as they arrived at New Brunswick’s Old Government House in Fredericton. A 21-gun salute thundered as she inspected an honour guard marking her Golden Jubilee, 50th year on the throne. 🇨🇦
