A friend and I organized his commemoration today here and the City of Ottawa declaring it Lt. Robert Hampton Gray day in Ottawa in a ceremony we organized which took place in Confederation Square.

Lost power for several hours and never heard wind howl so loud overhead for so long while ground level wind was relatively calm. Sounded like an airliner hovering over the house for about five to ten minutes.

Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts and large hail.

What: Damaging wind gusts to 110 km/h. Large hail up 4 cm. Risk of a tornado.

When: Early this afternoon into early evening.

Additional information: A cold front moving through the area is expected to trigger severe thunderstorms this afternoon.

Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road. Be prepared for severe weather. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather Approaches. Stay indoors when a thunderstorm strikes. There isn't a place outside that is safe during a thunderstorm.

Emergency management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather Approaches.

They are back buzzing Alfred-Plantagenet east of Ottawa. And this time they added to the squad!

When, all those years of having to watch World War 2 movies and documentaries with your brother and father, going to air shows at the museum, and watching planes for hours, pays off! Being able to tell that the sound overhead is 'not' the neighbour's Cessna. Can you identify these planes? Spotted heading east halfway between Ottawa and Hawkesbury.
