Maplewood Retirement Community

Maplewood enjoyed a wonderful day today at our Western BBQ! Residents gathered outdoors to celebrate with great food, live music, dancing, and plenty of smiles. The beautiful weather, western-themed atmosphere, and wonderful company made for a fun and memorable afternoon. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day such a success. It was a fantastic day filled with laughter, friendship, and community spirit!

We love learning about and exploring cultures from around the world—and today, our journey took us to Spain! 🇪🇸
Residents enjoyed a delicious paella lunch, followed by churros during our afternoon Social Time. We also had the pleasure of learning more about Spanish culture through a very interesting presentation on flamenco dance, thoughtfully prepared and shared by one of our residents.
To complete this wonderful Spanish experience, we ended the day with a vibrant flamenco dance demonstration. Thank you to Spanish Folk Dance Troupe of Ottawa.

Painting Day at Maplewood!
Creativity was on full display as residents enjoyed an afternoon of painting, smiles, and self-expression. Thank you, Shawn, for leading this fun and inspiring session!

Today, some of our residents enjoyed a wonderful outing to the charming village of Wakefield!
We shared a delicious lunch at Le Hibou, explored some of the unique local shops, and enjoyed a relaxing stroll through this picturesque community.

Our first BBQ of the season on our Assisted Living floor was the perfect way to kick off summer!

Today we were lucky once again to enjoy our intergenerational program with a wonderful visit from the Boys and Girls Scouts. Although the windy weather changed our original plans for an outdoor campfire and roasting marshmallows outside, we still had an amazing time together indoors filled with meaningful moments shared between generations. Thank you to all the scouts and leaders for bringing such positive energy and kindness to our Maplewood community.

Maplewood was dancing with the French Community Centre members! Everyone enjoyed a fitness class with both Latin and French music. It is always a pleasure being a Special Events Supporter out in the community.

Today the gentlemen of Maplewood enjoyed a special breakfast lovingly prepared by Adrian, our General Manager. It was a wonderful morning filled with great conversation, new friendships, and shared moments around the first meal of the day.
The delicious menu included English muffins with smoked salmon, poached eggs, potatoes, and fresh fruit. A beautiful opportunity to connect, laugh, and enjoy good company together.
