The Ambassador of Greece to Canada, Mrs. Ekaterina Dimakis, together with the Deputy Head of Mission, Mr. Markos Tripolitakis, and the Defence Attaché of Greece to Canada, Lieutenant Colonel Dimitrios Oikonomopoulos, participated in the CANSEC 2026 Exhibition, Canada’s leading defence, security, and emerging technology event, held on May 27–28, 2026.
The Greek delegation had the opportunity to visit and engage with leading-edge technologies, products, and services across land, naval, aerospace, and joint military domains exploring new opportunities for collaboration with Canadian and international partners.

The Ambassador of Greece to Canada, Mrs. Ekaterina Dimakis, participated in the third and final day of the official mission of the Group of European Union Ambassadors to the Province of British Columbia on Friday, May 22, 2026.
The programme included visits to the facilities of Cellcentric Fuel Cell Canada and Svante, a leading company in carbon management solutions, as well as the headquarters of the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada, offering valuable insight into Canada’s international engagement in the Asia-Pacific region.
Later in the day, the delegation was received by the Premier of British Columbia, Mr. David Eby, with whom they held engaging discussions on international cooperation and shared global challenges.
The official mission provided an excellent opportunity for dialogue and exchange of views between the European Union diplomatic community and key stakeholders in British Columbia. 🇬🇷🇪🇺🇨🇦

The Ambassador of Greece to Canada, Mrs. Ekaterina Dimakis, participates in the second day of the official mission of the Group of European Union Ambassadors to the Province of British Columbia on Thursday, May 21, 2026. The programme included visits to the Victoria Harbour Seaplane Terminal, the Port of Vancouver Fraser Authority, and the Port of Prince Rupert, offering valuable insight into British Columbia’s strategic transportation infrastructure and maritime connectivity.
The delegation also visited the University of British Columbia (UBC), where they had the opportunity to meet with UBC President Mr. Benoit-Antoine Bacon and exchange views on higher education, research and international academic cooperation. The programme further included a visit to the Museum of Anthropology at UBC, highlighting the rich cultural heritage and diversity of Canada.
Special thanks are extended to Ms. Cathy Geagan, Consul General of Ireland in Vancouver, for her generous hospitality in hosting a reception at the Consulate General of Ireland in Vancouver, providing an excellent opportunity for further dialogue and engagement.

On the first day, Wednesday, May 20, 2026, the programme included visits to the Centre for Ocean Applied Sustainable Technology (COAST), the University of Victoria, and the Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt, highlighting innovation, academic excellence, sustainability, maritime cooperation, and defence partnerships in British Columbia.

Today, the Ambassador of Greece in Canada, Mrs. Ekaterina Dimakis, participated in the WHDMO breakfast meeting, a meaningful exchange focused on the importance of advancing women’s leadership across public life.
The discussion featured valuable insights from Ms Katie Telford, who served as Chief of Staff to former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, contributing to a thoughtful dialogue on the role of women in shaping inclusive and effective governance.
We would also like to thank the Head of the European Union Delegation to Canada, Ambassador Ms Geneviève Tuts, as well as Australia’s High Commissioner to Canada, Ms Logan, for their initiative in co-hosting this important event.

On Friday, May 8, 2026, the Ambassador of Greece to Canada, Mrs. Ekaterina Dimakis, concluded her participation in the official economic mission to the Province of Nova Scotia alongside the Group of Heads of Diplomatic Mission.
The final day of the program focused on Halifax’s strategic role as a global gateway for trade, transportation, and logistics. Ambassador Dimakis held productive discussions with Mr. Lane Fargusson, Chief of Staff and External Relations of the Halifax Port Authority, and Mr. David Thomas, Executive Director of The PIER — Canada’s first laboratory dedicated to transportation, supply chain, and logistics industries.
The exchanges also highlighted the Port’s growing importance not only in cargo transportation and international trade, but also in cruise activity and tourism development.
The visit provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen dialogue and explore new avenues of cooperation in the fields of transportation, logistics, and economic connectivity between Greece and Canada.

On Thursday, May 7, the Ambassador of Greece to Canada, Mrs. Ekaterina Dimakis, continued her participation in the official economic mission to the Province of Nova Scotia alongside the Group of Heads of Diplomatic Mission.
During the morning program in Halifax, the delegation visited the Centre for Ocean Ventures & Entrepreneurship (COVE), a leading high-tech innovation hub supporting the global marine sector, where Ambassador Dimakis had a fruitful discussion with the Honourable Tim Houston, Premier of Nova Scotia, who warmly welcomed the delegation. The program also included visits to NATO DIANA (Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic) and the Health Innovation Hub, with discussions focusing on innovation, emerging technologies, defence cooperation, and research partnerships.
In the afternoon, Ambassador Dimakis and the delegation visited the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, an important symbol of Canada’s multicultural heritage and immigration history. The program also included a visit to Dalhousie University, where the Heads of Mission held meetings with members of academia and exchanged views on education, research collaboration, and international partnerships.
The day’s program concluded with a panel event hosted by the Canadian International Council (CIC), offering an additional platform for dialogue on international cooperation, diplomacy, and global affairs.
