🇦🇪 | For over 200 days, Turkish-Egyptian poet and political dissident Abdulrahman Yusuf has been subjected to following his extradition from to the UAE on 8 January 2025, in violation of international law.

🔵 Abdulrahman Yusuf was arrested in Lebanon based on a warrant issued via the Arab Interior Ministers Council ( ), over a video criticizing authorities in , the UAE, and . He was transferred without judicial oversight or access to asylum procedures, violating the principle of .
🔵 On 23 March, his family was permitted a brief, heavily monitored visit in an unacknowledged facility in . Since then, there has been no contact, no legal access, and no information on his detention or status.
🔵 His case exemplifies a growing pattern of in the region, enabled by cross-border security cooperation to target critics and .
🔵 Abdulrahman Yusuf holds no ties to the UAE; he is neither a citizen nor a resident and has never been convicted. His continued disappearance raises serious concerns of or ill-treatment.
