Those who know Gloria know how hard she has worked to get to where she is today, and I know she will continue that dedication in this important role advocating for and advancing Inuit priorities, rights, and self-determination.

NTI plays a vital role in advancing Inuit rights, implementing the Nunavut Agreement, and advocating for Inuit across Nunavut. This election also reflected strong engagement from Inuit beneficiaries both inside and outside the territory, with a 72.4% voter turnout — significantly higher than previous NTI elections.

Today, Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) Chief Returning Officer Joe Kunuk announced that Gloria Uluqsi was elected President of NTI with 19.6% of votes.

The Bytown Museum | Musée Bytown in Ottawa is providing space for National Indigenous Peoples Day programming on Sunday, June 21. There will be a stage to showcase local youth dancers throughout the day, a pop-up market, and videos from ITK's Inuit Nunangat Taimannganit project. The museum is the oldest stone building in Ottawa located right beside the Rideau Canal and organizers want to use the outdoor area to celebrate First Nations, Inuit, and Metis cultures.
