Saving the best for last! 🍰🍒

We just wrapped up our final Taste Test Tuesday, and we went out on a deliciously sweet note with our Dessert Round! Our residents sampled three incredible creations that Dining Service Manager Colleen brought to the table for our Fall/Winter menu:

• Classic Pineapple Upside-Down Cake 🍍

• Decadent Black Forest Trifle 🍒🍫

• Rich Pecan Pie Bars 🥧

This was easily the quietest Taste Test Tuesday we’ve ever had—everyone was far too busy licking their lips and scraping every last bit off their plates! Every single dessert was a hit, making it a super tough choice, but after all the votes were counted…

The Black Forest Trifle won by a landslide! 🏆✨

That wraps up our Fall/Winter menu Taste Test series! A huge thank you to all our resident food critics for helping us build a menu full of community favorites. We can’t wait for everyone to enjoy these new dishes all season long! ❤️

It Takes a Village: Supporting Our Residents Every Step of the Way 💙

Moving into a retirement residence is a big milestone, especially when family lives far away.

When Wendy decided to make Owen Sound Gardens her new home, her family was hours away and unable to oversee the move. That’s where our amazing friends at New Journey Organizers Inc stepped in.

They didn't just pack boxes, they provided total peace of mind. From gently sorting through decades of memories to fully setting up and decorating her new suite here at Owen Sound Gardens, and even preparing her former home for sale, they handled every single detail with love and precision.

On move-in day, Wendy walked straight into a warm, fully organized suite that felt like home from minute one.

What an incredible Taste Test Tuesday! 🍝🍖

This week, we kicked off the entree edition of our Taste Test series, and we couldn’t be more excited about the results! Around 25 of our residents joined our Dining Service Manager, Colleen, for an exclusive tasting session to help select new additions for our upcoming Fall/Winter menu.

We firmly believe our residents should always have a direct say in what goes onto their plates, so we put three delicious options to a vote:

• St. Louis Style Ribs (slathered in honey garlic or barbecue sauce)

• Chicken & Broccoli Lasagna in a rich Béchamel sauce

• Warm, comforting Vietnamese Beef Stew

While every dish got fantastic feedback, our St. Louis Style Ribs won by a total landslide! 🏆 Ribs are officially heading to the new Fall/Winter menu!

At Owen Sound Gardens, great food starts with our residents! 🍂🍽️

Last week, we officially kicked off Week 1 of our Taste Test Tuesday series with a focus on upcoming Fall/Winter menu appetizers! Our Dining Services Manager, Colleen, and her talented culinary team crafted three mouthwatering contenders for our residents to sample, rate, and review:

✨ Decadent Cauliflower Bites

✨ Mini Beef Wellingtons

✨ Mini Sausage Rolls (paired with a delicious Maple Dijon dip!)

Our residents sat in, tasted every option, cast their votes, and gave us direct feedback on what they want to see on their plates this season. Because when it comes to crafting our menu, our residents' voices matter most.
