Nestled on the Northeast Avalon of Newfoundland and Labrador, over 23,000 call Paradise home making us the third largest municipality in the province.

It’s that time again, Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend. ⏰

Clocks fall back one hour at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 1. It's also a great time to check and change batteries in household smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

Happy Halloween weekend! 🎃👻👽

Keep your eyes peeled this Halloween for all the trick-or-treaters out there! As you get ready to hit the streets and fill your bags with goodies, keep these safety tips in mind.

Wear reflective materials over your costume to be seen by oncoming traffic. Carry a flashlight to avoid tripping and be seen by others. Look both ways before crossing the streets and watch out for e-scooters. Once you get home, check your treats before you start enjoying all that candy!

For those behind the wheel, use extra caution as trick-or-treaters will be darting from house to house, and slow down in all residential areas. Some trick-or-treaters may be faster than usual, riding e-scooters to go back and forth. Take your time and enjoy the evening.

It’s a beautiful day in the neighbourhood for a grand opening! 🎉

No Frills officially opened today, October 29, 2026, and marks the 21st store in Atlantic Canada! With over 30,000 square feet, there’s no shortage of goodies to go around.

Joining the celebrations were Mayor Patrick Martin, along with Councillors Sheldon Antle, Jennifer Hiscock:, and Tommy Maher, who attended the opening and ribbon cutting. As part of the opening, No Frills made a donation to Rovers SAR and the Kin Club of Paradise,. You could certainly feel the community come together this morning.

Salary & Benefits
🔹 Annual salary of $73,072.00 as per the Collective Agreement, with the opportunity for overtime, standby, and shift-differential;
🔹 This is a unionized position working 40 hours per week;
🔹 Two rotating shifts over the winter season;
🔹 Free gym membership and access to fitness classes at the Paradise Double Ice Complex;
🔹 Eligibility for health and dental coverage after three (3) months of continuous service;
🔹 Opportunity to avail of summer seasonal employment

Requirements & Qualifications
🔹 A valid Class three (3) Driver’s License with 08 and 09/09A endorsements for the province of Newfoundland and Labrador (abstract required);
🔹 Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in operating heavy equipment is required;
🔹 Successful completion of a recognized post-secondary Heavy Equipment Operator Training Program is considered an asset;
🔹 Previous experience in the operation of drop frame side loaders would be considered an asset;
🔹 The successful candidate must be available as required and, upon occasion, this may mean long or unusual hours;
🔹 Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with tact and diplomacy;
🔹 Must be able to perform other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Get prepared for yard waste collection starting in November! 🍂🍁

Residents who would like to tidy up their yard of debris can pick up two free yard waste bags at the Paradise Double Ice Complex. We also have Green Goal decals for those interested.

Yard waste collection begins in November and will occur on your recycling collection day.

The Town of Paradise advises that paving work for the Kenmount Road Rehabilitation Project Phase I, previously postponed on October 20, 2026, has been rescheduled for this afternoon, Monday, October 26, 2026. Work will take place along the section of Kenmount Road between civic numbers #1250 and #1237, as well as on approximately 680 metres of the multi-use trail along the north side of Kenmount Road.

Access to businesses along Kenmount Road will be maintained throughout the work; however, drivers should expect traffic delays and are encouraged to allow extra travel time and plan alternate routes where possible this afternoon. Drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists are reminded to use caution when travelling through the area and follow all posted signage and directions from traffic control personnel.

The Town apologizes for any inconvenience and thanks residents for their patience and cooperation as this work continues.
