Ontario Public Library Week is just around the corner! As we get ready to celebrate, we’re shining a spotlight on the people, stories, and spaces that make libraries such an important part of our communities.

This month’s Tales & Trails highlights Middlesex County’s 15 library branches and the programs, displays, unique spaces, and staff that make each branch a safe, welcoming, and inclusive place for all. Together, these branches help build connections and strengthen the communities we serve.

As we approach OPLW and this year’s “Loud for Libraries” theme, we invite you to celebrate your local library by getting out and exploring a Tales & Trails location near you! 📖❤️

A heartfelt thank you to the London Community Foundation for supporting Middlesex County Library and our communities!

Their generous grants have helped our branches enhance programming, improve spaces, and create welcoming places for families and community members to connect, learn, and grow.

We’re grateful for this partnership and the difference it makes across Middlesex County! 🌱📖

London Community Foundation partnered with Middlesex County Library in the Summer of 2025, inviting all branches to apply for funding to support their programming, upgrade underused spaces, and generally improve the experience of community members across Middlesex County at their local libraries. Today we observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We honour Residential School Survivors, their families, and communities, and recognize the lasting impacts of Canada’s Residential School system. It is an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the intergenerational effects of residential schools and to reflect on their enduring legacy as part of the ongoing journey toward truth, healing, and reconciliation.

To help families learn about, and reflect on, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation together, Middlesex County Library is gifting families picture books that tell Indigenous stories.

One picture book is available per family, while supplies last. To request a book, please visit your local branch or complete our online form: https://forms.gle/4kmGGERWNfkTYYqi8

The Komoka Library will be closed today. All other Middlesex County Libraries are open regular hours.
