Serving the residents of North Simcoe, our objective is to care for the emotional and spiritual need

Hospice Huronia was established in response to a need identified by the Palliative Care Coordinator at Penetanguishene General Hospital. A community steering committee created Hospice Huronia in 1993 with a few dedicated volunteers and the organization became incorporated in 1994. Our purpose is to provide comfort and support to individuals suffering a terminal illness and to allow them to die with dignity surrounded by their families and friends. Our client base has grown from a handful of families in 1994 to providing service to approximately 140 families and individuals annually. We currently have over 70 active volunteers who provide thousands of hours of volunteer visiting. Our volunteers also provide administrative support and help at fund raising events.

We are so incredibly lucky to have Lisa at The Yoga House to run our weekly Yoga for Grief sessions. To top that off, she does Yoga for Charity in the summer and has donated $890 of the proceeds to Hospice in support of our programs and services. Thank you Lisa! Namaste.

Last month Georgian Shores Seniors hosted the Murray Donaldson Memorial Golf/Mini-Golf Tournament and Hospice was given a portion of its proceeds - $1,163! Thank you!! What a fun event - offering something for all skill levels.

Three Cheers for Co****le! Thank you to everyone who came out to our Co****le event, bought co****le raffle tickets and contributed to that fun day. We raised close to $30,000 and couldn't have done it without you! A special shout out to Tribe Fastball Club who supplied the co****le sets with such great service and donated to the event as well! It's great to see such community support.
