Pense, Saskatchewan is a quiet town with a population of just over 500 that celebrated its 100th year as a Village in 2004. Centrally located in the Regina-Moose Jaw Corridor, it is an ideal location for new business and commuters as it provides a secure, lower cost alternative to the nearby cities. Services include a volunteer fire department and an emergency response team. Water in Pense comes from the City of Regina's main line and a new 100,000 gallon reservoir was built in 2006. The streets are well maintained throughout the seasons with grading, gravelling, snow plowing and removal. Other amenities include a full service Post Office, the Town Hall, which can be rented for social functions, the Memorial Rink, the Lions Splash Park and recreation area and ball diamond. The community of Pense defies the common misconception that there is nothing to do in a small town. The Recreation Board concerns itself with the physical fitness and wellness of the community. It offers various courses and programs throughout the year as well as lending financial support to many recreational organizations in Pense. The Pense Community Fitness Club has a gym with lots of modern equipment to help residents stay In Motion year round. In the winter, the Pense Memorial Rink is always busy with hockey, curling and figure skating. Always quick to welcome newcomers, the residents of Pense are an eclectic mix of farm families descending from the original settlers, senior citizens, young families and people who work in the cities or at the nearby communities. They are hard working and fun-loving people who readily extend a helping hand to neighbors and strangers alike.

Update: Saturday, October 31, 2026 @ 10:15 AM

Thank you, Pense! We did it!

The repairs have passed all the tests, and we are now filling the water reservoir. You may resume normal water use!

Before we do, there are some very important thank-yous to hand out. First and foremost, thank you to each and every one of you for stepping up and reducing your water consumption. Together, we were able to cut our daily water use in HALF! That is an incredible community effort!

A huge thank-you to:
• Sterling Plumbing for putting in the long hours to get us reconnected to the City water main.
• Westwood Ag for having their water tankers filled and on standby to assist with fire suppression if needed.
• The Town Public Works crew for all their hard work and dedication in getting us through this.

It truly takes a community to get through a challenge like this, and we are so grateful for everyone's efforts, patience, and support.

Thank you, everyone! We couldn't have done it without you!

Update: Friday, October 30, 2026 @ 10:00 AM

We're doing great, Pense! Let's keep it going!

That shower, laundry and dishes will have to wait another 24 hours.

Repairs to the watermain between the City of Regina and the Town of Pense are progressing well, but crews need just a little more time to get the job done.

Please continue to reduce water use to help conserve the Town's reservoir supply. Our goal is to avoid having to bring in a water tanker to replenish the reservoir. Doing so would trigger the need for a Precautionary Boil Water Advisory.

We know this is an inconvenience, and we appreciate everyone doing their part. We're getting through this together!

Thanks for your patience and cooperation!

Update: Thursday, October 29, 2026 @ 4:00 PM

Repairs are still underway and will continue into the morning. Should any unexpected issues arise during the repair process, the Town has contingency plans in place to ensure that drinking water and water for fire suppression remain available.

Thank you for your continued efforts to reduce water use and conserve the Town’s remaining water supply. These conservation efforts are essential to help prevent the reservoir from being depleted until the water supply is restored and further notice is provided.

Please continue to share this update with your friends, family, and neighbours to help spread the word.
