CALLING ALL TEENS! If you're between the ages of 13-18 and want to gather with like-minded peers to chat books, share book recommendations, fawn over fandoms, and more, join us for our BRING YOUR OWN BOOK (BYOB) BOOK CLUB! This isn't a traditional book club - we DON'T all read the same book. Instead, bring what you're currently reading and discuss in a low-key setting. (Don't want to share out? No problem. There's no pressure - just come for the shared experience and listen to others!) Come and hear what people are loving, what they're hate-reading, and meet other teens just like you! There will be some snacks and drinks provided; this is a drop-in program (no registration required). For more information, please contact Melissa at [email protected] or 250-770-7781 x7788.

Welcome to Behind the Bookshelf, a feature on our social media and in our library where we profile one staff member a week. The goal of this feature is to allow our patrons to learn more about our staff on a personal level; this will also help you figure out who to go to for book recommendations. ;)

Meet Joyce C., our dedicated and long-serving Library Assistant! You may know Joyce from the front lines of our library, as she's often greeting patrons at the second circulation desk or helping them sign up for a library card (or renewal!). Joyce is the 3 Fs - funny, friendly, and (sometimes) feisty! Our resident dog lover, she is the fur mama of Abby, a volunteer with many different organizations in our local community, and an incredible First Aid attendant here at the library. We are so lucky to know and love Joyce, and we know you'll want to learn more about her through this post!

TOMORROW join us for a family-friendly program to create some fun and fuzzy art - and enjoy a snack. We'll be making art with lots of great textures, using pom-poms, cotton balls, pipe cleaners, crepe paper and more. We'll have some sample ideas, but there will be lots of room for your imagination!

This program is free and drop-in. It is open to all ages, but kids under 8 must have an adult with them. For more information, please call Julia cox, Youth Services Librarian at 250-770-7783, or ask in the Children's Library!
