🚌💛 Happy School Bus Driver Appreciation Day! 💛🚌

Today, we want to give a BIG Northport thank you to the amazing school bus drivers who safely transport our Cougars to and from school each day! 🐾

Our bus drivers are often some of the first smiling faces our students see in the morning and the last they see at the end of their school day. Through early mornings, busy roads, rainy days, snowy days, and everything in between, they play an important role in keeping our students safe and cared for.

We are so grateful for their patience, dedication, and commitment to our students and families.

If you see your bus driver today, be sure to give them an extra wave, smile, or THANK YOU! 🚌👏

From all of us at Northport — thank you for getting our Cougars safely where they need to go! 💙🐾

💙 Celebrating Our Amazing ECEs & EAs! 💙

Today, as we recognize Child Care Worker and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day, we want to take the opportunity to celebrate not only our incredible ECEs, but also the amazing Educational Assistants who are such an important part of our Northport Cougar family! 🐾

Our ECEs and EAs bring patience, compassion, creativity, flexibility, and a whole lot of heart to Northport each and every day. They build meaningful relationships with students, celebrate successes big and small, provide support through challenging moments, and help ensure that every student feels safe, included, supported, and valued.

So much of what they do happens quietly, behind the scenes, and without enough recognition — but the difference they make in the lives of our students is enormous.

We are incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated team supporting our Cougars. Please join us in saying a HUGE thank you to our wonderful ECEs and EAs for everything they do for our students, staff, and school community! 💙🐾

Check out this feature highlighting last year's Northport Eco Club/Garden Club on the Learning for a Sustainable Future website! We're so proud of the amazing work our students did with the school garden, composting initiative, and environmental leadership.

🔗 Read about it here: https://ourcanadaproject.ca/place/eco-club-garden-club/

We're excited to keep the momentum going! Next week, 10 more Grade 6 students will be participating in this year's Youth for Climate Change Project. These students will form a new Eco Club and develop their own environmental initiative to implement at Northport. They'll also help maintain our school garden and continue building on the successful composting program started by last year's group. Eco Club application forms are due tomorrow by the end of the day!

We're looking forward to seeing what this year's environmental leaders accomplish! 🌿♻️🌎
