Fur-Ever Wild Rehabilitation We rescue & rehabilitate orphaned, injured & displaced native wildlife. Our goal...to return them to their home. Just keep it warm and call us ASAP.

If you find a baby animal, please do not feed it anything or try to care for it yourself. Each animal is different, and so are their needs. We have the training and will help you figure out if it is truly orphaned, how to reunite it with its mom, or how to get the animal to us safely, with minimal stress...on both of you.

Late night arrival last night with many thanks to Fur-Ever Wild Rehabilitation and their volunteer drivers for getting this eagle here.

Thanks to our onsite laboratory we have been able to rule out a lot of things, but a more extensive exam and set of diagnostics is needed to get to any conclusive results.

For now the fluids she has been receiving via IO catheter are helping and this morning she is feeling a lot better. She ate the little bit of food I put out for her and I have seen her preening her feathers.

We’ll do some more advanced diagnostics tomorrow.

Bare Truth
This little bunny that was just ready to leave the nest was dragged out and mauled by 2 cats! Crushed pelvis. Not repairable. The rest of the litter is doomed. Ground-nesting bunnies are defenseless and vulnerable. Cat inflicted injuries on baby bunnies is one of the more frequent calls we receive. RIP little one. You never had a chance.
PLEASE KEEP YOUR CATS INDOORS.

UPDATE: NEW BEGINNINGS. From Tragedy to New Life.

73 days after that female Snapping Turtle was struck down on the road in Port Stanley, 2 adorable hatchlings emerged! 🐢🐢
A reminder that Snapping Turtles are not monsters-they are nature's clean-up crew. They help keep our lakes clean by scavenging, balancing fish populations and maintaining healthy ecosystems.
They are vulnerable on land, so please watch out for them on the road and give them a brake! 💚

Over the past few days I have received quite a few calls for injured and or/sick gulls. Both Ring-billed and Herring gulls. Most were very ill and unfortunately had to be euthanized. I am hoping to send a few for testing.
Please, if you see an injured or ill waterbird, do not go near it and keep your dog and children away. Hearing reports of children kicking them and poking them with sticks is extremely disturbing. Having aquired an illness through no fault of their own, they are alive and very aware of their surroundings. Their weakness prevents them from fleeing to safety. Just leave them be and call us 519-777-6440

Migration numbers are picking up and we are already close to a quarter billion!

Because of untreated glass, many birds will be making extremely long journeys that become more treacherous than necessary.

It's time to step up efforts to protect these travellers:

• Treat glass with Feather Friendly visual markers or Bird Divert UV markers
• Keep lights out at night.
