πŸ’œ October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Supporting Survivors

When someone chooses to share their experience with you, how you respond matters.

Listen without judgment. Believe them. Respect their choices and give them the space to decide what feels right for them.

You don’t need to have all the answers. Sometimes, knowing that someone is there to listen and support you can make all the difference.

Support. Listen. Believe. πŸ’œ

Recognizing the Signs

Domestic violence isn’t always visible. It can take many forms, and sometimes the signs may be subtle or difficult to recognize.

Taking the time to understand what domestic violence can look like helps us notice when someone may be struggling or experiencing harm.

If something doesn’t feel right, don’t ignore it. A conversation, a listening ear, or simply letting someone know you’re there can make a difference.

Recognize the signs. Listen without judgment. Offer support. πŸ’œ

πŸ’œ October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and heard. Domestic violence can happen in many forms, and sometimes the signs may not be easy to recognize.

Awareness starts with paying attention, speaking up, and knowing that support is available. If someone chooses to share their experience with you, listen, believe them, and support them when they’re ready.

We all have a role to play in creating safer homes and stronger communities.

Recognize. Report. Prevent.

Stop the Violence. πŸ’œ

πŸ’š World Mental Health Day | October 10

Sometimes, the people who seem the strongest are the ones quietly carrying the heaviest burdens. Behind every smile, there may be struggles that others cannot see. And that's why a little kindness, a listening ear, or simply asking someone how they're doing can mean so much.

Today, we are reminded that it's okay not to be okay. It's okay to take a step back, to rest, to ask for help, and to give ourselves the same compassion we so freely give to others.

No one should have to face life's challenges alone. Whether you're going through a difficult time or supporting someone who is, remember that every feeling matters, every story deserves to be heard, and every person deserves support.

Let's continue to create a community where people feel safe to open up, where asking for help is met with understanding, and where no one feels they have to struggle in silence.

If you or someone you know could use some support, please reach out to us. You don't have to navigate things on your own β€” Rooted Connections is here to listen and help. πŸ’š

Be gentle with yourself and with others. Sometimes, the smallest act of kindness can make the biggest difference.

Stronger Foundations. Brighter Futures.

Honouring Truth and Reconciliation 🧑

September 30 is a time to remember the children who never returned home,, honour Residential School Survivors and their families, and reflect on the lasting impacts of the residential school system on Indigenous children, families, and communities.

There are many ways to honour this day. Take some time to learn about the history and ongoing impacts of residential schools, listen to Survivors and Indigenous voices, attend a local event, or explore resources that can help deepen your understanding.

Reconciliation is an ongoing journey. Taking the time to learn, listen, and reflect can help us build greater understanding, strengthen relationships, and create more inclusive and respectful communities. 🧑

We remember. We Listen. We continue learning.

🌟 CHILL MASTERS: Building Calm, Confidence & Coping Skills 🌟

Is your child between the ages of 7-12 and experiencing worry, anxiety, or big feelings?

Our Chill Masters group is designed to help children learn practical, age-appropriate tools to better understand and manage anxiety, all while having fun and connecting with other kids who may be experiencing similar challenges. πŸ’›

Through engaging activities, children will learn skills to:
🧠 Understand how anxiety works
🌬️ Manage big feelings and calm their bodies
πŸ’ Challenge worried thoughts
πŸ’ͺ Build confidence and coping skills
πŸ› οΈ Develop tools they can use in everyday life

And it’s not just for the kids! Parents participate in their own group at the same time, learning strategies and practical tools to better understand anxiety and support their child at home.

Because when children learn new skills, parents can learn how to support and strengthen those skills, too. ❀️
