Help Shape the Cultural Future of Our Region

The Kent Regional Service Commission is working with our communities to develop a regional cultural policy, and we want to hear from you!

A cultural policy is not just for artists and cultural organizations. It concerns our entire community and can help preserve and bring our heritage to life, support local artists, improve access to culture, celebrate our diversity, and strengthen our sense of belonging.

We want to hear your ideas, experiences, and vision for the future of arts and culture in our region.

What makes our region unique?
What would you like to see developed?
How can we better support arts, culture, and local artists?
What needs or challenges should be addressed?

Join us and share your ideas at our Regional Cultural Policy Engagement Session:

Wednesday, September 16 at 6:30 p.m.
Richibucto River Museum
Bonar Law Common
31 Bonar Law Avenue, Rexton

Your perspective matters and will help shape a cultural vision that reflects our people, heritage, creativity, and communities.

✨ Meet our Recreation Coordinator, Minseong! ✨

Back in May, Minseong joined the Five Rivers team as our Full-time Recreation Coordinator, taking charge of our summer camps, summer student staff, weekly activities, the gift shop at Richibucto River Museum, and Bonar Law Common page.

Bringing over 6 years of corporate experience from global giants Samsung, LG and US companies in South Korea—plus graduating as a university valedictorian—she hit the ground running during a wonderfully busy season.

Drawing on her favorite background in marketing, she especially loved collaborating with our summer students to create fun and engaging marketing videos for Bonar Law Common page. She’s already set an ambitious goal to grow our Bonar Law Common Facebook to over 1,000 followers in the next couple of years!

Her calm, positive, and happy personality has been an incredible asset to our team, keeping everything running smoothly even during the busiest weeks.

While it was a whirlwind summer jumping right into the role, she is already looking forward to implementing even better structures and plans for next year! But first, a very well-deserved break: this fall, she is finally heading back to South Korea to reunite with her family. ✈️❤️

Don't worry! After her trip, she will be right back with us to get ready for all our upcoming activities, events, and summer camp/summer students for next year!

Please join us in thanking Minseong for an unforgettable summer and wishing her a wonderful, safe trip home.

Stories That Connect Generations 📖✨

What a wonderful evening of storytelling and shared memories!

Last week, we had the pleasure of gathering with our community for a special Storytelling Event hosted by Richibucto River Historical Society

Stories are more than just memories. They are a part of our history, passed down from one generation to the next, helping us understand where we came from and keeping our community’s heritage alive.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and shared their stories. Every story told is a piece of history preserved for future generations. ❤️
