🚨 ‼️ The Libby App is rolling out a security update starting October 15th that requires all users to enter a library account PIN, along with their library card number to log into Libby.

The good news? Your Branch District Library PIN is the exact same PIN or password you use to log into BDL's main catalog system. Can’t remember your PIN/Password? Try the last 4 digits of your library card number. That didn’t work? Call or visit your local branch of BDL with your library card, and staff can securely reset your PIN.

You will not be automatically logged out of Libby, but rather when you try to check something new out or place a hold, you will be prompted to put in your PIN/Password. Any questions, don't hesitate to call!

Answers to the questions about Hoopla...
In addition to the limit of 5 checkouts/month/patron,
Palliser Headquarters has set a daily budget starting this summer to ensure we did not go over budget this year. This has the following affects:
Regardless of how many checkouts an individual has remaining for the month, if the daily budget for Palliser has been reached, there can be no more checkouts that day.
Patrons trying to check out an item will see a message stating: "The collective daily borrow limit set by your library has been reached and will reset at midnight."
Midnight reset: Daily limits automatically reset at 12:00 AM
We recommend tapping the heart/favorite icon on desired titles during the day so they can be easily checked out right after the midnight reset, or early the next morning. We are hearing reports that the daily limit is getting reached fairly early in the day.
These restrictions are due to a budgetary shortfall in the provincial libraries grant to regional libraries.
