Your Saint John firefighters responded to reports of a house fire early this morning in the Red Head area on Saint John’s east side.

Crews arrived to find the home’s back deck on fire, with flames quickly spreading into the house. 16 firefighters responded from across the city. Crews quickly worked to extinguish the fire and check for extension. The home sustained significant damage, but thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Your Saint John firefighters had a special visitor at the station!

Meet Olivia! She stopped by to check out the trucks and see the station, but Platoon 3 was happy to have an extra set of hands. Olivia helped the crew with their daily station duties and got a little taste of life at the fire station!

Thanks for the help, Olivia! We hope you had a great time visiting us!

This past week, our members came together for a great day of golf, with proceeds supporting Muscular Dystrophy Canada.

A big thank you to Westfield Golf & Country Club for always welcoming us and hosting another great tournament. We’d also like to thank Cask & Kettle for keeping everyone well fed after the round and for always being such great hosts.

We’d also like to extend a special thank you to Bob Keays and Higgins Insurance for sponsoring the $10,000 Hole-in-One Challenge. Your continued support means a lot to our members and our community.

Thank you to everyone who participated, sponsored, donated, and helped make this year’s tournament another success!

Today marks 25 years since the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

On that day, 343 firefighters with the New York City Fire Department made the ultimate sacrifice while answering the call to help others. Alongside them, police officers, paramedics, emergency responders, and thousands of civilians lost their lives.

For those of us who wear the uniform, their story is a reminder of the courage, dedication, and selflessness that define the fire service. They ran toward danger when others were trying to escape.

Their sacrifice continues to remind us of the responsibility we carry every time we answer a call.

Your Saint John firefighters stand with our brothers and sisters in the fire service, and with the families and loved ones who continue to carry their loss.

Never forget.
