The Theme of Take Me Outside Day (week) this year was 𝘏𝘰𝘱𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘴 𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦. Students and staff accepted the challenge to head outdoors as much as possible, and the weather cooperated beautifully.

Activities included: treasure 🔍 and pumpkin 🎃 hunts in the forest, walks on the trail around school grounds🍁, practicing our number sense🪨, painting 🫟, planting bulbs🪏, letter matching🔤, harvesting from our vegetable garden🥒🫑🥕, phys ed classes👟, eating outdoors 🍎, a lesson about the different squirrels in Quebec 🐿️ , playing with the light🔅👤, meeting little creatures along the way 🐛🪱 🐞and of course lots of free play and opportunities to explore☀️🐾🌿🌎☁️💧.

Some classes also joined educator Leona Prince online for a special reading of 𝘉𝘦 𝘢 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳. The story’s message and illustrations were captivating. They also learned from Elin Kelsey’s presentation with the theme of finding hope in a changing world and won a copy of her book 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘭 that we are happy to add to our collection.📚

The outdoors have so much to offer and inspire us year round. Our outdoor classroom continues to provide us with such a unique learning environment.
