Construction Update — Woodworth Avenue Sewage Pumping Station 🚧
Starting Thursday, May 28, 2026, Hayman Construction will begin concrete pours for the shoring system as part of the Woodworth Avenue Sewage Pumping Station upgrade.
Work will begin daily around 7 a.m., with concrete trucks expected on site approximately every 90 minutes throughout the day. Additional traffic control measures will be in place to safely manage this increased construction activity.
Woodworth Avenue remains closed and is not available for school drop-offs or pick-ups for the coming weeks. We ask all parents, guardians, and motorists to plan alternate routes and continue to use extra caution in the surrounding area, particularly near June Rose Callwood P.S.
Where possible, the construction team will continue to limit disruption during peak school hours.
We appreciate your continued patience and understanding as we complete this important infrastructure project for the City of St. Thomas.

A message from the City of St. Thomas:

"In order keep kids and parents safe from construction traffic the City has asked that parents avoid Woodworth Ave north of Edward as a drop off zone. Construction barrels will be placed in this area to discourage its use. Safety is our number one priority.”

Dear Families and Caregivers,

As a follow up to the communication you received from TVDSB on May 6 regarding the transition to a Balanced School Day structure with 2 breaks of 40 minutes each for next school year, please find detailed information about the school day schedule below. This new schedule will start in September 2026.

2026-2027 School Day Schedule

School Start / Instructional Block 1 (9:10 am - 11:10 am)
Break 1 (11:10 am - 11:50 am)
Instructional Block 2 (11:50 am - 1:50 pm)
Break 2 (1:50 pm - 2:30 pm)
Instructional Block 3 (2:30 pm - 3:30 pm)
School Ends 3:30 pm

If there are any changes to your child’s transportation, Student Transportation Services (STS) will contact families directly.
